I chose this film because it is a personal favorite of mine and I feel that the storyline best meets the requirements for the research assignment. This movie is based off of a memoir written by Beverly Donofrio. It tells a heart wrenching story of how a straight A student made one bad choice which lead to very grave consequences. It is a tale of a young woman's "fall" into adulthood and how she deals with the responsibility of raising a child when she is just a child herself.
I feel it informs the viewer not only about the consequences of our actions but how many consequences come with great responsibility and sacrifice. I personally believe this movie is a great way to teach other young adults like myself that we all have choices we have to make and with those choices brings forth a new set of responsibilities.
