"The Kitchen of Meaning"

1. How does this piece make me feel?
This piece makes me feel as if I've been looking at the world from a different perspective this entire time.

2. What do I agree or disagree with?
I agree with the fact that even the simplest and basic items we use in our everyday life can be meaningful and can impact our day to day lives.

3.What passage is striking?
While reading this piece I unfortunately did not find any piece that was striking or that stood out to me besides the fact that basic everyday items are interpreted too as symbols and signs.

4. What are three questions or comments that I have about the piece?
Three questions I have about the piece are:
        1. How did the author come to his/her conclusion?
        2. Where did he get the term "kitchen of meaning" from?
        3. I love the concept of the piece, however I still don't understand how simple items can possess such in depth interpretations.

"Casa"

Honestly, I enjoyed the piece. The piece made me feel like I was apart of her grandmother's stories. As if I were sitting there in the room listening to her up close. There was nothing that I really disagreed with besides the lack of compassion and emotional support the grandmother showed to her eldest daughter, Aunt Nena. The part that stood out the most for me was the part when the author said ". . . another session ending with the laughter of women, all of us caught up in the infectious joke of our lives." Which brings me to the question of what exactly did the author mean by that?
